With Bsit you can search for Sitters and organise a sitting in a few clicks.
Bsit requires a subscription but you have the possibility to see if there are enough good proposals in your area before subscribing!
Bsit works with different subscription plans.
To start:
create a profile and complete it, this will help you get better results
share your contacts (and see which Sitters are known by your friends)
schedule a sitting, via the main page of the app
choose a type of sitting
create the sitting. The sitting will be an Open sitting by default. You can additionnally invite selected Sitters if you want. You can also limit the sitting to the selected Sitters and make it private, this can be adapted in your settings.
chat with the Sitters or call them. You can easily add Sitters to your favourites.
confirm the Sitter of your choice for the specific mission!
Warning: a credit card is required to pay the Bsit subscription and possibly to pay the Sitter via the app.
Bsit calculates the time down to the minute and avoids rounding off (e.g. the sitter arrives at 20:12 and leaves at 23:52, you only pay for the exact time and not 4 full hours). Also, by paying through the app you avoid having to return to an ATM and the risk of the Sitter not having the change.
give the Sitter a rating and a review after the sitting, this is ESSSENTIAL to build trust on Bsit
don't forget that the Sitter will also rate you!
The whole philosophy behind Bsit is that the community of parents using the system is the most competent to operate a selection through recommendation. Vetting can't be a 100% effective, and we don't want to offer an inomplete solution, even at 99,9%. A lot of services offer vetting but this is usually limited and consists of a copy of the sitter's ID and a brief telephone call.
What we offer you is the best tool (in the whole universe!) to select a Sitter: by sharing your contacts you can see the Sitters that already heve been at your friends' for example, or you can see the Sitters living close to you (sometimes in your street!) or then there are the Sitters that have already done a certain amount of sittings through Bsit and have good "scores".
When the Sitter hasn't already got ratings and reviews, it is good to check out their description, see how far the Sitter lives and, once you selected a few Sitters, you can discuss by phone or chat, which usually gives you a good idea of their personality and competences. Up to you to make the final selection.
Also, most Sitters who accept being paid through the app had to have their ID validated (process ongoing) and we also have their telephone numbers, which can't be anonymous anymore since june.
Bsit is primarily a collaborative application, which means that you can actively participate in setting up your network and increase the number of invitations to sittings.
There are Open sittings on Bsit and parents can also send you Invitations. Quick replies, including refusing babysitting, earns you points. When you accept a proposal, the parent chooses between the Sitters who have replied. You will be notified if you are chosen.
Here are some tips to start:
create a profile
fill in the profile as well as you can (a complete profile has a better chance of getting sittings)
Don't worry. If you link your Facebook account to Bsit, we will publish nothing on your Facebook account! The only purpose is to show parents how many of your friends are using Bsit. Nothing more! It helps verifying your account and thus reassure parents.
add a description with elements of previous sitting experiences with children, this is especially what parents want to read!
fill in your bank account number (IBAN), the majority of parents are looking for Sitters they can pay through the app.
check your ID (required by Stripe, the company that takes care of the payments)
set your Sitting Preferences and availabilities
if you are available during the day and have free days to take care of children after school, do not hesitate to activate your profile for "after school sittings"
In terms of security for Sitters, you must first know that the parent gives a lot of information before registering, including a valid credit card and a valid phone number.
The place where the sitting takes place is also known, do not hesitate to transmit it to a relative or a friend.
Also, a number of parents already have a rating, given by previous Sitters. Do not hesitate to chat with the parent before sitting.
If you still have a doubt, do not hesitate to let us know.
If your date of birth was entered incorrectly, just send us:
a photo of the front of your ID (for validation)
the telephone number with which the account was created
... to support@bsit.com
Logging in and signing in is done via the mobile number used to set up the account.
To change it, email us at support@bsit.com. and mention both the old number and the new number.
Log out from the app, we will change it ASAP!
Parents:
When creating a new sitting just enter a new address, the last used addresses will be kept and proposed.
Sitters:
You can adapt a main and a secondary adress in your profile. Don't forget to regularly check your availabilities at both addresses!
Deleting the profile is possible via the app itself.
It can be done simply like this:
go to profile
select 'Help and info' at the very bottom
click on "Delete my profile".
In accordance to the current legislation, your data will be definitively deleted within the month.
Don't hesitate to tell us if there is a particular reason for you not to be wanting to use Bsit anymore, we nevertheless hope to see you on Bsit in the future!
(Warning, if you are a parent, do not forget to cancel the automatic renewal of your Bsit subscription in the "My subscription" tab in your profile).
To edit your availability as a Sitter in your app:
go to your profile
choose 'Preferences & addresses'
click on the house
fill in the boxes (daytime 5-17h or evening 17-5h) you are available for
you can enter a second address and also tick the available boxes for it
save by going back one page (via the arrow in the top left corner)
To indicate unavailability as a Sitter:
go to your profile
choose 'Preferences & addresses
click on the little house
click on 'add unavailability' at the bottom of the page
enter date (hour, reason) of unavailability
click on 'Add' at the bottom of the page
To make yourself completely unavailable as a Sitter (no longer receive invitations)
go to your profile
choose 'Preferences & addresses
choose 'Preferences & addresses
Turn off option 'Type of sitting
(Advertisements on the main page will always remain visible)
The renewal of our subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, free of charge and with a single click, as soon as you take out a subscription.
To cancel the automatic renewal of your Bsit subscription:
go to profile
go to "My subscription
click on "Cancel automatic renewal".
The subscription will run until the end of the period provided but will not be renewed. Your account remains active and you can re-subscribe whenever you want.
Caution: If you cancel your current Bsit Subscription, you may not be able to re-subscribe at the initial price. Please click here to see our current subscriptions.
To upgrade the subscription:
go in the app
go to Profile
click on 'My subscription'
click on 'New subscription'
The app will display the full price, but you will of course only be paid the difference between the new subscription and what you did not use during the previous subscription.
Send us an email to info@bsit.com when you have made the change and we will send you the proof of payment issued by the company that does the payments. (Paying agency: Stripe)
To activate the Family Pack, the parent who created the subscription has to:
go to Profile
go to Family Pack (under Subscriptions & payments), everything is explained there!
Once this is done, the other partner has to:
restart the app
add a credit card as identification
Then all occasional sittings created after the activation can be seen and shared with the partner. Once a sitting is accepted and confirmed by one of the two partners, the other one sees it in the app, can chat with the Sitter, start, stop the sitting etc...
On Bsit, we favour the payment through the app using your credit card: the parent does not necessarily have the right amount in cash, the Sitter does not necessarily have the exact change.
Cash payment is always possible at the end of the sitting:
just press "Stop the sitting" (adjust the hours if necessary)
then all the way down the page "Confirm sitting details"
click on "I have already paid the Sitter" (under the green payment button)
Forgot to press "Stop"?
go to the 'Agenda' tab at the bottom of the app
go to the 'Past' tab
click on the sitting in question
Pay the sitting (hours can still be changed here)
Bsit has trusted Stripe since April 2017 to ensure the security of payments made by its users.
Stripe respects and is strict with the European anti-fraud directives and imposes a deadline for each payment.
This allows:
the possibility for us to cancel a payment made by the parent by mistake
to ensure that a Sitter/parent account is not used for fraudulent purposes
As indicated in the email sent to the Sitter, it is normal for the payment to take 5 working days.
Please contact us through support@bsit.com if the money has not been deposited after 5 working days.
If you want to receive a summary of your sitting history, just go to your profile in the app and click on "Payment history". There, you can easily filter by period and payment type and export the result by email.
Spendings for childcare on Bsit are not deductible for the moment.
If you're experiencing a technical issue, don't hesitate to try the following before contacting us:
log out and log back in again
check on the Play Store or App Store the app is up to date, you can also just delete and reinstall the app
try out if the problem happens on both wifi and 4G
find out if Bsit is allowed to use mobile data in your phone's settings
If none of these work, please contact us through support@bsit.com with:
an exact description of what is happening or - even better - a screenshot or video
the make and model of the phone, the version of the iOS or Android operating system and the version of the app (under "Help & Info").
We will try to find a solution as soon as possible!
Logging in and creating an account are done the same way:
enter the number with which the account is/was created
enter the code you receive via SMS or phone (if the SMS does not arrive, you may be called by a "+44" number in some cases)

No code received?
first try a second time as there can be delays
check in your phone if the numbers used by Bsit (8128, 8810, 8989,...) are blocked (Android: open the "Phone" app, tap "More", then "Settings", then "Blocked numbers" / iPhone: go to "Settings", tap "Messages", then "Blocked")
